Breast Cancer Detection
Breast cancer is one the main death causes for women worldwide, as 16% of the diagnosed malignant lesions worldwide are its consequence. In this sense, it is of paramount importance to diagnose these lesions in the earliest stage possible, in order to have the highest chances of survival. While there are several works that present selected topics in this area, none of them present a complete panorama, that is, from the image generation to its interpretation.

Hormones for Oral Bone and Periodontal Tissue Engineering
Hormones are unique regulatory chemicals that govern fertility, growth, maturation, and microenvironmental maintenance, in addition to power generation, usage, and storage. Hormones play a fundamental function in the maintenance of the integrity of both periodontium and bone. Bone tissue is made up of many cell types and an extracellular matrix that is mostly made up of collagen proteins. Bone’s primary roles are structural support, mechanical motions, blood cell formation, and tissue preservation; it also serves as a depot of calcium and phosphate ions in the body.

Electronic Cigarette and COVID-19 Pandemic
Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) continue to be considered an alternate model of curbing smoking addiction. The presence of various electronic vaping products used as solvent carriers, flavorings, addictive substances, and their byproducts may lead to vaping product use-associated lung injury (EVALI). The continuing pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has initiated a global health emergency with the ongoing crisis related to vaccination, therapy, and diagnosis. Patients with a history of using e-cigarettes could have overlapping clinical symptoms of COVID-19, thereby leading to incorrect or delayed diagnosis and consequently, wrong treatment regimen. The diagnosis of EVALI during the COVID-19 pandemic is a challenge for treatment in these patients, and it is important to bring awareness to young adults and adolescents against the adverse effect of e-cigarettes containing addictive substances during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amino Acids, B Vitamins, and Choline and ASD
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder of variable severity, characterized by difficulties in social interaction, communication, and restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behavior. In 2018, the incidence of ASD was 2.4 times higher than estimated in 2000. Through examining plasma profiles, urine samples, and dietary intake, researchers found that low choline, abnormal amino acid, and low B vitamin levels were present in children with ASD compared to those without ASD.

Smart Hospitals and IoT Sensors: The Healthcare Future
Hospitals are already adopting sensor devices of many types to monitor medical processes. Patients and medical staff can now wear sensors that provide movement and health conditions information in near-real time. Additionally, many sensors can monitor physical settings generating information about the environment and medical equipment. This set of sensors has the potential to provide information to support decision-making processes and medical data analytics. Internet of Things (IoT) is spreading among several areas, paving the way to a new industrial revolution.

Alcohol Consumption Patterns
Excessive alcohol consumption has negative effects not only on the drinkers’ health but also on others around them. Alcohol consumption can be attributed to a range of demographic and social factors, namely access to alcohol outlets, age exposure, familial background, socioeconomic background, and religious influence. Easier access to the substance can be associated with the more frequent consumption of alcohol among adults, young adults, and adolescents in general, and it may be associated with higher levels of harmful consumption, as well as more harmful effects in life events for women. Adolescents exposed to alcohol at a young age, regardless of gender, drank more, but their drinking habits changed as they grew older. Family background influences alcohol dependence, including family stability, parental authority over early access to alcohol, and family lifestyle, which influences alcohol dependence, notably mother drinking tolerance and habit of consuming alcohol throughout pregnancy. The level of education, employment, type of profession, and monthly income can have an impact on alcohol consumption. There is a link between high religiosity and fewer alcohol-related problems, less binge drinking, and less alcohol consumption frequency for any gender.
