Aqueous Organic Redox-Targeting Flow Batteries
Aqueous organic redox flow batteries (AORFBs) represent innovative and sustainable systems featuring decoupled energy capacity and power density; storing energy within organic redox-active materials. This design facilitates straightforward scalability, holding the potential for an affordable energy storage solution.

Curcumin Electrochemistry
Curcumin (CU) is a polyphenolic compound extracted from turmeric, a well-known dietary spice. Since it has been shown that CU exerts beneficial effects on human health, interest has increased in its use but also in its analysis in different matrices. CU has an antioxidant character and is electroactive due to the presence of phenolic groups in its molecule.

Direct Current Triboelectric Nanogenerators from Material Selections
With the global energy shortages, sustainable energy scavenging from the natural environment is desperately needed. Unlike solar cell or wind power, which depends heavily on weather conditions, triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has received extensive attention as an efficient all–weather energy–harvesting technology. Based on the coupling principle of contact electrification (CE) and electrostatic induction, conventional TENGs convert mechanical energy into an alternating current (AC) output. However, the typically distributed sensor systems in the ubiquitous Internet of Things (IoTs) request a direct current (DC) input. Direct current triboelectric nanogenerators (DC-TENGs) with the constant output characteristic are critical to satisfy the above requirements.

In-Situ Polymerized Solid-State Polymer Electrolytes
The practical usage of sodium metal batteries is mainly hampered by their potential safety risks caused by conventional liquid-state electrolytes. Hence, solid-state sodium metal batteries, which employ inorganic solid electrolytes and/or solid-state polymer electrolytes, are considered an emerging technology for addressing the safety hazards. Unfortunately, these traditional inorganic/polymer solid electrolytes, most of which are prepared via ex-situ methods, frequently suffer from inadequate ionic conductivity and sluggish interfacial transportation. In light of this, in-situ polymerized solid-state polymer electrolytes are proposed to simplify their preparation process and simultaneously address these aforementioned challenges.

Beta Titanium Alloys for Biomedical Applications
β-Ti alloys have long been investigated and applied in the biomedical field due to their exceptional mechanical properties, ductility, and corrosion resistance. Metastable β-Ti alloys have garnered interest in the realm of biomaterials owing to their notably low elastic modulus. Nevertheless, the inherent correlation between a low elastic modulus and relatively reduced strength persists, even in the case of metastable β-Ti alloys. Enhancing the strength of alloys contributes to improving their fatigue resistance, thereby preventing an implant material from failure in clinical usage.

Key Issues and Strategies of Aqueous Zinc-Ion Batteries
With the rapid growth of the world population and the further industrialization of modern society, the demand for energy continues to rise sharply. Hence, the development of alternative, renewable, and clean energy sources is urgently needed to address the impending energy crisis. Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries are drawing increased attention and are regarded as the most promising candidates for large-scale energy storage systems.

Seashell-Based Biocomposite by
Pleurotus ostreatus
Mycelium
Mycelium biocomposites are eco-friendly, cheap, easy to produce, and have competitive mechanical properties. However, their integration in the built environment as durable and long-lasting materials is not solved yet. Similarly, biocomposites from recycled food waste such as seashells have been gaining increasing interest recently, thanks to their sustainable impact and richness in calcium carbonate and chitin.

C–H Functionalisation
C–H bond functionalisation describes the transformation of a C-H bonds into a C-X bonds (X = C, N, O, B, halides, among many others). The term is typically associated with transition metals in processes like C-H activation. However, other methods such as nitrene/carbene insertion and hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) can also be used to functionalise C-H bonds with varying selectivity and ability to introduce different functional groups depending on the method used.
