Cellulose and Cellulose Derivatives
Among the biomaterials, cellulose is the most abundant, cheap, sustainable, chemical reactive and modifiable natural macromolecular compound on the Earth. It is a carbohydrate homopolymer, which is composed of repeating long linear chains of β-anhydro-D-glucopyranose units, linked together by an ether bond between -OH group of C4, and the C1 carbon atom, via a β-1,4-glycosidic bond.

Pyrazole Biomolecules as Cancer and Inflammation Therapeutics
The pyrazole moiety is a heterocyclic ring system (five membered) with 3 C and 2 N in adjacent sites. Pyrazole compounds have an extensive past of applications, being used as herbicides, agrochemicals, and as active pharmaceutical agents. Pyrazole derivatives exhibit anti-inflammatory properties and have been shown to target several cancer cell lines, such as COX (I/II).

Synthesis of Cyclic Sulfoximines via C–H Bond Activation
Sulfoximines, a ubiquitous class of structural motifs, are widely present in bioactive molecules and functional materials that have received considerable attention from modern organic chemistry, pharmaceutical industries, and materials science. Sulfoximines have proved to be an effective directing group for C–H functionalization which was widely investigated for the synthesis of cyclic sulfoximines. C–H activation of sulfoximines has been widely considered to be an efficient method to construct complex scaffolds with potential bioactivities, especially since Bolm discovered the first efficient strategy of Rh-catalyzed annulation of sulfoximines and alkynes in 2013.

Types of Carbon Fibers Used in Geopolymer Matrix
Carbon fibers (CFs) can be applied in different forms of occurrence in the geopolymer matrix. The most popular seem to be short CFs because they are easy to use for different applications. Most manufacturing methods do not require significant changes to implement the short fibers, despite the application of long fibers or textiles. However, several research works involved short fibers; a significant part of them concerns work made with the addition of long fiber fabrics as composite elements, carbon fiber felt, or similar forms, as well as the addition of other forms of carbon, i.e., graphene, graphite, or waste CF used in the manufacture of aviation products. The last three additives were introduced most frequently into geopolymers in the form of particles.

Hydrogels via Diels–Alder Crosslinking
The Diels–Alder (DA) reaction is a promising tool for obtaining covalently crosslinked hydrogels due to its reaction bioorthogonality, the absence of by-products, and the application of mild conditions without a catalyst. The resulting hydrogels are in demand for use in various fields of materials science and biomedicine.

Glycopolymers Targeting Viruses
Diseases induced by bacterial and viral infections are common occurrences in our daily life, and the main prevention and treatment strategies are vaccination and taking antibacterial/antiviral drugs. Vaccines can only be used for specific viral infections, and the abuse of antibacterial/antiviral drugs will create multi−drug−resistant bacteria and viruses. Therefore, it is necessary to develop more targeted prevention and treatment methods against bacteria and viruses. Proteins on the surface of bacteria and viruses can specifically bind to sugar, so glycopolymers can be used as potential antibacterial and antiviral drugs.

Electrolyte Solvation Structure for Aqueous Zinc Ion Batteries
Zinc as an anode, with low potential (−0.762 V vs. SHE) and high theoretical capacity (820 mAh g−1 or 5854 mAh L−1), shows great promise for energy storage devices. The aqueous zinc ion battery (ZIB) is known as a prospective candidate for large-scale application in the future due to its high safety, environmental friendliness, abundant zinc resources on earth, and low-cost advantages. However, the existence of zinc dendrites and side reactions limit the practical application of ZIBs. Therefore, a lot of effort has been made to improve the performance from aspects including the structure design and surface modification of zinc anodes, regulation of the electrolyte solvation structure, and design of the functional separator.

Pharmacological Applications of Piperidine Derivatives
Piperidine is a six-membered heterocycle including one nitrogen atom and five carbon atoms in the sp3-hybridized state. Piperidine-containing compounds represent one of the most important synthetic medicinal blocks for drugs construction, and their synthesis has long been widespread. It can be unequivocally stated that heterocyclic compounds play a significant part in the pharmaceutical industry, and one of the most common in their structure is the piperidine cycle.

Intermetallic Compounds for Hydrogen Storage
Intermetallic compounds have attracted great attention because of their wide application in the development of Hstorage alloys. There are many applications for intermetallic compounds, including Hstorage systems, Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery electrodes, Hsensors and catalysts, and cooling systems. Intermetallic compounds are attractive in the development of Hstorage alloys because they can absorb large amounts of H. In addition, they are abundant and have diverse ingredients.
