Oceanic Environmental Impact in Seaports
Seaports are gateways that connect a nation to the world economy. With trade by sea increasing due to globalization, the need for the improvement and development of seaports cannot be overlooked. While the development of ports is considered essential for the economic growth and prosperity of a nation, they also result in environmental deterioration that can hurt the future of humanity.

Dolomite Mineralogy
Dolomite [CaMg(CO3)2] is a rhombohedral carbonate mineral. The dolomite structure consists of an ordered arrangement of alternating layers of Ca2+ and Mg2+ cations interspersed with CO32− anion layers normal to the c-axis, which is in contrast to the disordered distribution of Ca2+ and Mg2+ in the (high-Mg) calcite structure.

Quinone-Based Redox Mediators
Quinone compounds are a class of substances that contain cyclic unsaturated diketones, especially carbocyclic compounds and their derivatives with quinone groups. These compounds contain either q-quinone or o-quinone groups and can be divided into benzoquinone, naphthoquinone, anthraquinone, and phenanthraquinone according to their structural characteristics. Structurally, all compounds containing quinone groups have the potential to act as redox mediators to accelerate electron transfer.

Molybdenum-Based Electrode Materials
As a novel type of green energy storage device, supercapacitors exhibit several orders of magnitude higher capacities than the traditional dielectric capacitors and significantly higher power density than the traditional secondary batteries. Supercapacitors have been widely applied in energy storage fields. Electrode materials, as pivotal components of supercapacitors, play an important role in electrochemical performance. Molybdenum-based materials have attracted widespread attention for their high theoretical capacitance, abundant resources, and facile synthesis tactics. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically summarize the application of Mo-based electrode materials in high-performance supercapacitors and unveil their developmental direction and trends.

Application of Non-Thermal Plasma over Zeolite-Based Materials
Zeolite based materials are widely used as adsorbents and catalysts for purifying air pollutants (such as NO) and VOCs due to rich pore structure, regular pore distribution and numerous ion exchange sites. Heat treatment is a necessary procedure to remove impurities in pores and promote the uniform dispersion of metal active substances, and then zeolite based adsorbent/catalyst is used to purify nox/volatile organic compounds. However, the traditional thermal field treatment (i.e. high temperature calcination, high temperature purging, etc.) requires a lot of energy consumption. In contrast, non thermal plasma and other unconventional external field treatments show significant advantages of high efficiency, low energy consumption and low pollution, and are used to replace traditional heat treatment in many fields.

Chemical and Biological Degradation for Perfluorooctanoic Acid
Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is a perfluoro compound that contains an eight-carbon perfluoroalkyl chain followed by a carboxylic acid function group. It has found applications in water-resistant coating and is produced either by degrading other long-chain perfluorinated carboxylic acids or fluorotelomer alcohol. PFOA is challenging to further degrade during water treatment processes, leading to its accumulation in natural systems and causing contamination. Research has been conducted to develop several methods for its removal from the water system.

Carbon Footprint Reduction through Modern Supply-Chain Measures
The worldwide Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for smart cities and communities focus significant attention on air quality and climate change. Technology and management can reduce fossil fuel dependence in smart cities’ energy supply chains (SC). A sustainable smart city and reduced carbon emissions require coordinated technology and management with appropriate infrastructure.

The Impact of Microplastics on Global Food Production
Microplastics (MPs), a new class of pollutants, are extremely varied and their effects are particular to each organism, making the qualitative assessment and evaluation of their effects on the global food industry extremely complex. MPs are present in air, earth, and water, and hence can access all sectors of the food production industry.
