Bioactive Glasses in Bone Regeneration
Mesoporous bioactive glasses (MBGs) is a category of bioceramics that, as will be explained, can be considered intermediate between traditional bioactive glasses—obtained by quenching of a melt or by the sol-gel method—and silica mesoporous materials. These bioactive glasses can be considered a spin-off of silica mesoporous materials because they are designed with a similar technical approach. Mesoporous glasses in addition to SiO2 contain significant amounts of other oxides, particularly CaO and P2O5 and therefore, they exhibit quite different properties and clinical applications than mesoporous silica compounds. Both materials exhibit ordered mesoporous structures with a very narrow pore size distribution that are achieved by using surfactants during their synthesis. The characteristics of mesoporous glasses made them suitable to be enriched with various osteogenic agents, namely inorganic ions and biopeptides as well as mesenchymal cells.

Immunotherapeutic Approaches for Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma
Escaping the immune system is the main characteristic of a tumor cell. In order to limit the anarchic proliferation of cancer cells, chemotherapies are often used in tumors that have no specific treatment yet, such as AITL. These therapies are proposed to limit the proliferation of dividing cells, i.e., healthy cells as well as tumor cells. This explains the poor benefits of such treatment and the major risk of relapse or even the absence of signs of remission. Importantly, targeting a specific cancer cell type without inducing an effect on healthy cells requires an in-depth knowledge of its phenotype and its surface markers, which can serve as an asset for the development of specific therapies, in particular immunotherapies. If some healthy cells are affected, it is called on-target off-target effects because certain cancer epitopes are partially expressed on non-malignant cells. These therapies include, for example, monoclonal antibodies and chimeric antigen receptors.

Two phytochrome A Types in Plants
The phytochrome (phy) system of plants with the main phyA and phyB controls their development beginning from seed germination to fruiting and senescence. The regulation reactions are categorized into three modes—the very low and low fluence responses (VLFR and LFR) and the high irradiance responses (HIR). The phyA is unique among the other phytochromes; it is major in etiolated seedlings and light-labile, and mediates all the three photoresponse modes. The phyB is light-stable, dominates in deetiolated plants, and performs the LFR. The phyA is itself heterogeneous which may explain its functional complexity. It comprises two native types, phyA′ and phyA″, the products of post-translational modification of the molecule at the N-terminus, possibly, via serine phosphorylation. This alters chromophore-apoprotein interactions resulting in the different photochemical, phenomenological, and functional properties of the two phyA pools. The phyA′ is major, water-soluble, and light-labile; the phyA″ is minor, amphiphilic, and relatively light-stable. The phyA′ mediates the VLFR whereas the water-soluble fraction of phyA″ is responsible for the HIR and LFR, the processes taking place in the nucleus. The membrane- (protein-) associated fraction of phyA” is likely to participate in the cytoplasmic photoregulation processes. The phyA pools' functions—their mode, intensity and sign—depend on plant's species, genotype and organ/tissue. The evidence of the existence of the two distinct phyA types in a plant, and their physicochemical properties and their role in the phyA functioning are discussed.

The use of nanoparticles is a multidisciplinary approach to provide UV blocking, antimicrobial, water repellent, colorant, flame retardant, sensing, and self-cleaning properties to textiles. Particularly, the antimicrobial textiles with improved functionalities find several applications, namely, in health and hygiene products, infection control, and barrier material. Depositing nanoparticles in textiles have been a promising strategy to achieve multifunctional materials. Review Microwave Resonant Glucose Sensors
The measurement of glucose concentration finds interesting potential applications in both industry and biomedical contexts. Among the proposed solutions, the use of microwave planar resonant sensors has led to remarkable scientific activity during the last years. These sensors rely on the changes in the dielectric properties of the medium due to variations in the glucose concentration. These devices show electrical responses dependent on the surrounding dielectric properties, and therefore the changes in their response can be related to variations in the glucose content. This work shows an up-to-date review of this sensing approach after more than one decade of research and development. The attempts involved are sorted by the sensing parameter, and the computation of a common relative sensitivity to glucose is proposed as general comparison tool. The manuscript also discusses the key points of each sensor category and the possible future lines and challenges of the sensing approach.
