Design and Development of the Gas Detection Platform
A gas detection platform was constructed using commercial sensors and embedded boards, and experimental data were collected in a hood environment such as used in chemical experiments. Electronic devices and data analysis procedures must be specifically tailored to develop an electronic olfactory system.

Cognitive Diagnosis Models
In the field of education, cognitive diagnosis is crucial for achieving personalized learning. The widely adopted DINA (Deterministic Inputs, Noisy And gate) model uncovers students’ mastery of essential skills necessary to answer questions correctly. However, existing DINA-based approaches overlook the dependency between knowledge points, and their model training process is computationally inefficient for large datasets.

Dynamic Distributed Intelligence Architecture for Human Activity Recognition
A wide range of applications, including sports and healthcare, use human activity recognition (HAR). The Internet of Things (IoT), using cloud systems, offers enormous resources but produces high delays and huge amounts of traffic. Researchers propose a distributed intelligence and dynamic HAR architecture using smart IoT devices, edge devices, and cloud computing. These systems were used to train models, store results, and process real-time predictions. Wearable sensors and smartphones were deployed on the human body to detect activities from three positions; accelerometer and gyroscope parameters were utilized to recognize activities. A dynamic selection of models was used, depending on the availability of the data and the mobility of the users.

Abnormal Activity Recognition for Visual Surveillance
Due to the ever increasing number of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras worldwide, it is the need of the hour to automate the screening of video content. Still, the majority of video content is manually screened to detect some anomalous incidence or activity. Automatic abnormal event detection such as theft, burglary, or accidents may be helpful in many situations. However, there are significant difficulties in processing video data acquired by several cameras at a central location, such as bandwidth, latency, large computing resource needs, and so on.

Hydroponic Monitoring and Controlling System Using ANFIS
Most people are now aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including the importance of consuming vegetables. As a result, the demand for vegetables has increased, and so their production needs to be increased. Currently, most plantations use soil as a growing medium, which is time-consuming and requires a significant amount of space. To modernize cultivation, hydroponic techniques should be adopted. A smart hydroponic system was developed using the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) method, which allows for automatic adjustments based on the collected dataset and remote control through internet of things (IoT) technology.
