Characteristics and Models of Viscoelastic Materials
Viscous and viscoelastic (VE) dampers have been extensively used for the seismic response control in buildings. Such devices are exploited with good results in newly erected structures and also in retrofit projects.

Light Detection and Ranging Data Testing Methods
Reports suggest that while both the LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) and RADAR (Radio Detection and Ranging) systems detected the pedestrian about six seconds before the registered impact, a misclassification of the pedestrian as an “unknown object” led to the unfortunate crash. LiDAR presents the least technological development when it comes to the identification of anomalous data. While per-point detection is a well-explored field of anomaly detection, object-level and pattern-based approaches remain few and far between.

Extraction of Anthocyanins by High-Hydrostatic-Pressure and Ultra-High-Pressure-Homogenization
The use of high-pressure technologies is a hot topic in food science because of the potential for a gentle process in which spoilage and pathogenic microorganisms can be eliminated; these technologies also have effects on the extraction, preservation, and modification of some constituents. Anthocyanins can be rapidly extracted from skins using High Hydrostatic Pressure (HHP) and cell fragments using Ultra-High Pressure Homogenization (UHPH), releasing them and facilitating their diffusion into the liquid quickly. High Hydrostatic Pressure (HHP) and Ultra-High Pressure Homogenization (UHPH) techniques are gentle and protective of sensitive molecules such as phenols, terpenes, and vitamins. Both techniques are non-thermal technologies with mild temperatures and residence times.

Mud Channel Characteristics
The mud channel is an essential component of mud pulse telemetry (MPT) communication systems. During the transmission process, the mud pulse signal will be distorted by various factors, which increases the difficulty of signal recognition and processing at the surface. However, there are still some ambiguous and even contradictory conclusions regarding the signal transmission mechanism such as the mud channel model.

Fuzzy-Based Efficient Healthcare Data Collection in the IoMT
The Internet of Things (IoT) is an advanced technology that comprises numerous devices with carrying sensors to collect, send, and receive data. Due to its vast popularity and efficiency, it is employed in collecting crucial data for the health sector. As the sensors generate huge amounts of data, it is better for the data to be aggregated before being transmitting the data further. These sensors generate redundant data frequently and transmit the same values again and again unless there is no variation in the data.

Thermal Analysis in Biomass Combustion
Driven by its accessibility, extensive availability, and growing environmental consciousness, solid biomass has emerged as a viable alternative to enhance the diversity of renewable energy sources for electricity generation. To understand the phenomena involved in solid biomass conversion, it is necessary not only to understand the stages of the biomass combustion process but also to understand specifically the kinetics of the reaction and the release of the volatiles.

Control Technology for a Geological Bedding Bias Tunnel
The Baishitou Tunnel of the Dali–Lincang railway project is a weakly cemented surrounding rock tunnel with geological bedding bias. The deformation of the surrounding rock on the side with the greatest stress is nearly 1 m, which seriously affects construction progress and significantly increases construction cost. In order to achieve the goal of safe, efficient, economic, and socially sustainable development in tunnel construction, it is necessary to study the large deformation of weakly cemented surrounding rock in the geological bedding bias tunnel.

Automatic Road Boundary and Linear Road Marking Extraction
Advancements in data-acquisition technology have led to the increasing demand for high-precision road data for autonomous driving. Specifically, road boundaries and linear road markings, like edge and lane markings, provide fundamental guidance for various applications. Unfortunately, their extraction usually requires labor-intensive manual work, and the automatic extraction, which can be applied universally for diverse curved road types, presents a challenge.
