AI-Based Evaluation of Streets for People in Bangkok
Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, grapples with several urban challenges, including traffic accidents, congestion, and underdeveloped sidewalks. These issues stem from the escalating use of private cars and motorcycles driven by rapid urbanization, accompanying economic growth, and the unique street geometry of the city. Furthermore, despite the development of railroads, issues persist with the poor walking environment for pedestrian access to stations, posing a challenge to the promotion of safe and environmentally friendly public transportation. This study evaluated streets’ spatial performance, focusing on the performance of soi, the intricate network of narrow urban pathways in Bangkok. Leveraging an AI model capturing pedestrian value, this study subsequently assessed accessibility from typical residential areas to public transportation stations. The findings shed light on the challenges faced by sois in Bangkok. Based on the findings, practical implications were discussed and provided to inform urban designers, with the aim of promoting public transportation usage and encouraging a more sustainable urban form.

Grid-Forming Inverters
The electrical grid is predominantly characterized by synchronous generators (SGs). These generators provide a consistent voltage and frequency, facilitating the synchronization of VSIs and their connection at the point of common coupling (PCC) for injecting power into the main grid. These inverters operate as current sources and are known as grid-following inverters. The imperfections of grid-following inverters arise when the grid is absent, as this concept fails to produce instantaneous voltage and frequency set points. Therefore, this operating mode has been significantly modified, from following the grid to leading it. This concept is known as grid-forming (GFM) inverters, which can independently set up and keep the voltage and frequency within their nominal ranges without the need for the main grid.

Knowledge Graph for Disassembly of Electric Vehicle Batteries
End-of-life (EoL) electric vehicle (EV) batteries are one of the main fountainheads for recycling rare metal elements like cobalt and lithium. Disassembly is the first step in carrying out a higher level of recycling and processing of EV batteries. EV battery knowledge graphs can provide detailed structural information to assist operators in understanding the layout and composition of batteries. Planning the disassembly sequence using knowledge graphs can facilitate the robotic disassembly of EV batteries.

Smart Machine Health Prediction Based on Machine Learning
In an industrial setting, consistent production and machine maintenance might help any company become successful. Machine health checking is a method of observing the status of a machine to predict mechanical mileage and predict the machine’s disappointment. The most often utilized traditional approaches are reactive and preventive maintenance. These approaches are unreliable and wasteful in terms of time and resource utilization. The use of system health management in conjunction with a predictive maintenance strategy allows for the scheduling of maintenance times in such a way that device malfunction is avoided, and thus the repercussions are avoided. IoT can help monitor equipment health and provide the best outcomes, especially in an industrial setting.

Development of Control Techniques for AC Microgrids
In distribution networks, the inclusion of multiple distributed generators (DGs) requires the development of control strategies to manage power flows within the microgrids (MG) or between the MG and the traditional grid. The hierarchical approach with three levels (primary, secondary, tertiary) and different control strategies (decentralized, centralized, distributed) has proven to be very efficient in achieving the set objectives. The primary control ensures reliable and safe operation while maintaining voltage and frequency stability. This control is mostly decentralized, functional only in islanded mode, and implemented using droop control. The secondary control is applied to optimize the quality of MG energy while minimizing voltage and frequency deviations. It is used in centralized and distributed approaches, with applications in autonomous mode, although voltage regulation is a task that responds to a local phenomenon, and it could also be a function to be performed in grid-connected mode. The tertiary control is used to achieve economic optimization based on energy costs and the electricity market. By using information, it can be used with centralized or distributed strategies. This control is the only one that performs tasks in both modes of MG operation.w
