Ginger
Ginger in its many forms, from juices of the fresh rhizome, to ginger powder and ginger essential oil, is growing in popularity for claimed universal health benefits. Nevertheless, and contrarily to the common notion of the public, ginger is not devoid of side effects, especially interactions with other drugs, and many of the claimed benefits remain to be substantiated.

Gilsonite-Modified Bitumen
Hot mix asphalt has various benefits such as good workability and durability. It is one of the most general materials used as asphalt mixtures in road pavements. Asphalt mixtures and binders can be improved by modifying them with various additives. Gilsonite is a natural asphalt hydrocarbon which may be used as an additive to hot mix asphalt. It is used as an asphalt binder modifier (wet process) and an asphalt mixture modifier (dry process) to improve the properties of the mix. It provides the option of improved rheological properties, stability, strength rutting resistance and moisture sensitivity.

Germanium Ion Implantation and Annealing
Germanium (Ge) ion implantation into silicon waveguides will induce lattice defects in the silicon, which can eventually change the crystal silicon into amorphous silicon and increase the refractive index from 3.48 to 3.96. A subsequent annealing process, either by using an external laser or integrated thermal heaters can partially or completely remove those lattice defects and gradually change the amorphous silicon back into the crystalline form and, therefore, reduce the material’s refractive index. In addition, Ge ion implantation and annealing are also demonstrated to enable post-fabrication trimming of ring resonators and Mach–Zehnder interferometers and to implement nonvolatile programmable photonic circuits.

Geothermal Heat Exchangers
Geothermal energy is likely to be a significant contributor in achieving sustainable energy goals and net-zero emissions targets. Within geothermal power plants, heat exchangers play a critical role in harnessing this renewable energy source. However, these heat exchangers encounter significant challenges when exposed to geothermal fluids, including erosion, corrosion, and scaling, which adversely affects their performance and longevity.

Geopolymer Technology: Possible "Cement-Matrix" Sosbtitution
Geopolymer technology (GCs) refer to a class of alumino-silicate cementitious materials resulting from an inorganic polycondensation reaction (named “geopolymerization”) between solid alumino-silicate precursors and highly concentrated aqueous alkali hydroxide or silicate solution such as sodium hydroxide (NaOH), potassium hydroxide (KOH), sodium silicate (Na2SiO3), or potassium silicate (K2SiO3).

Geopolymer Nanocomposites
Geopolymers belong to the group of the fastest-growing polymeric materials. The interest in these inorganic ceramic materials is constantly growing. This is a result of their properties, including acid resistance, porosity, low drying shrinkage, as well as high strength, due to which geopolymers are widely investigated for potential application in the construction industry (e.g., repairing roads, bridges, or other infrastructure). The range of potential applications of geopolymers can be increased by improving the properties of the components.

Geopolymer Materials for Extrusion-Based 3D-Printing
3D-printing is a sustainable approach to geopolymer material manufacturing, promoting waste reduction, energy consumption reduction, and CO2 emission reduction. In addition, 3D-printing technology based on geopolymers confronts hurdles that must be overcome to produce high-performance goods. One of the most important aspects of the quality and accuracy of 3D-printed geopolymers is the design of the mixture. Utilising industrial waste from mining and building as well as alternate aluminosilicate sources are two ways to advance the development of printing geopolymer combination compounds.

Geopolymer Materials for Bone Tissue Applications
Geopolymers (alkali-activated materials) are amorphous inorganic polymeric systems with aluminosilicate bases produced by alkalinising natural or waste substances, such as metallurgical, industrial, urban, and agricultural wastes. There is increasing academic interest in geopolymer materials for biomedical applications.
