Parent–Child Interactions in Deafness Children
Despite early identification and advancements in cochlear implant and hearing aid technology, delays in language skills in deaf children continue to exist. Good-quality parent–child interaction (PCI) is a key predictor for the successful development of deaf children’s signed and/or spoken language. As good-quality PCI is widely acknowledged to be significant for child language development in deaf children, then we must have the necessary tools to assess it. This review answers three questions: Which parent behaviours are assessed in PCI? How are they assessed? And which parent interaction behaviours are positively correlated with deaf children's language skills?

Prediction Models for Venous Thromboembolism
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a significant cause of mortality in patients with lung cancer. Despite the availability of a wide range of anticoagulants to help prevent thrombosis, thromboprophylaxis in ambulatory patients is a challenge due to its associated risk of haemorrhage. As a result, anticoagulation is only recommended in patients with a relatively high risk of VTE. Efforts have been made to develop predictive models for VTE risk assessment in cancer patients, but the availability of a reliable predictive model for ambulate patients with lung cancer is unclear.

Comparison of Road Noise Policies
Developing innovative noise policies that build on international best practices is difficult when policies around the world differ along many dimensions, ranging from different sources covered to different levels of governance involved. Cultural Safety for LGBTQIA+ People
Although the concept of "cultural safety" as its origins in indigenous nursing care, there is support and rationale for applying this concept for LGBTQIA+ people as a population who experience health disparities due to barriers to access equitable care. Building on Mukerjee and colleagues' 5 "P" tenets (partnerships, personal activities of daily living, prevention of harm, patient centering, and purposeful self-reflection), reviewed studies on components of culturally safe care for LGBTQIA+ people revealed five themes: power-enhancing care; inclusive healthcare institutions; continuous education and research; promotion of visibility; and individualised care.

Innate Immunity Promotes Programmed Death of Individual Organisms
Over-activation of innate immunity in response to bacterial or viral (including COVID-19) infections, massive trauma, or ischemia/reperfusion often causes severe illness and death. We suggest that such severe outcomes may be manifestations of an altruistic suicidal strategy protecting the entire population from the spread of pathogens and from dangerous pathologies rather than aberrant hyperstimulation of defense responses.

Relationship between Subjective Cognitive Complaints and Executive Functions
Subjective cognitive complaints correspond to a heterogeneous construct that frequently occurs in the early stages of older adult life. Despite being a common source of worry for middle-aged people, it can be underestimated when clinical and neuropsychological assessments discard any underlying pathological processes. Negative age stereotyping but also self-stereotyping can contribute to doing so. Although its diagnosis is a challenge, its implication as a possible predictor of mild cognitive impairment or dementia increases the interest in its early diagnosis and intervention.

Vaccine versus Variants
With the emergence and spread of new SARS-CoV-2 variants, concerns are raised about the effectiveness of the existing vaccines to protect against these new variants. Although many vaccines were found to be highly effective against the reference COVID-19 strain, the same level of protection may not be found against mutation strains.

COVID-19 and Seasonal Influenza Vaccination
SARS-CoV-2 and influenza are the main respiratory viruses for which effective vaccines are currently available. Strategies in which COVID-19 and influenza vaccines are administered simultaneously or combined into a single preparation are advantageous and may increase vaccination uptake.
