Kinesio Taping for Masticatory Myofascial Pain Syndrome
Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) is thought to stem from masticatory muscle hypersensitivity. Masticatory myofascial pain syndrome (MMPS) is characterized by multiple trigger points (MTrPs), also known as hyperirritable points, in taut bands of affected muscles, regional muscle pain, or referred pain to nearby maxillofacial areas like teeth, masticatory muscles or the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Muscle stiffness, reduced range of motion, muscle weakening without atrophy, and autonomic symptoms may accompany regional discomfort. Multiple treatments have been utilized to reduce trigger points and mandibular function restrictions. As a result of these incapacitating symptoms, MMPS can significantly impair many elements of quality of life. The application of Kinesio tape (KT) is a non-invasive method of treating dormant myofascial trigger points. Utilizing the body’s innate capacity for self-repair, this technique entails taping specific regions of the skin. KT alleviates discomfort, decreases swelling and inflammation, enhances or suppresses motor function in the muscles, stimulates proprioception, promotes lymphatic drainage, stimulates blood flow, and expedites tissue recovery.

The natural flora of the mouth is very diverse. After the large intestine, it has the second highest complexity in terms of microorganisms, including more than 700 microorganisms. Each tissue has specific microbes that are different from adjacent tissues’ microbes. Still, these microbes can be displaced under certain conditions, such as the effects of cytotoxic drugs, oral cancer, or epithelial atrophy. The oral flora is divided into two categories, static and transient, which regularly balance with the host and protect against pathogenic microorganisms. The static flora on oral cavity surfaces is known as biofilm that can improve or protect oral health against pathogens, increase the virulence of potentially harmful microorganisms, and reduce the effectiveness of antimicrobial agents. Infections caused by bacteria in the mouth include caries and periodontitis. Microorganisms can attack different parts of the mouth via different mechanisms.

Characteristics and General Classification of Gastric Cancer
Gastric tumors have been divided based on their location—cardiac and distal. The former refers to the small paracardial area, while the latter refers to the rest of it. The most popular classification in terms of histology is the Laurén classification, which distinguishes between two types of gastric cancer (GC)—intestinal and diffuse. The first GC subtype is often associated with Helicobacter Pylori and lifestyle, which includes a high intake of table salt and alcohol, a low supply of fruits and vegetables, or smoking. It is estimated that about 15–20% of tumors do not fall under Laurén’s classification and are, therefore, considered intermediate tumors. Clinically, GC can also be divided according to its early or advanced stage. Early gastric cancers refer to small tumors (2–5 cm) that take the form of invasive carcinoma of the gastric mucosa or submucosa. Detection of lesions at their early stage is associated with relatively good survival.
