Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) is the most frequent form of all childhood leukemias, mostly affecting children between 2 and 4 years old. Oral symptoms, such as mouth ulcers, mucositis, xerostomia, Herpes or Candidiasis, gingival enlargement and bleeding, petechiae, erythema, mucosal pallor and atrophic glossitis, are very common symptoms of ALL and can be early signs of the disease.

Nerve Injury and Photobiomodulation
The available therapeutic options for restoring function and sensitivity in long-term nervous injuries pose challenges. Microsurgery interventions for direct nerve repair often lead to serious complications and limited success. Non-surgical methods, although somewhat effective, have limited benefits. These methods involve drug administration, such as with analgesics or corticosteroids. Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) has emerged as a promising approach based on clinical and laboratory studies. PBMT stimulates the migration and proliferation of neuronal fiber cellular aggregates. Experimental studies on animal models with peripheral nerve compression injuries have shown that PBMT can enhance the functionality of damaged nerves, preserving their activity and preventing scar tissue formation. The mechanism of action depends on the wavelength, which can positively or negatively affect photo acceptor resonances, influencing their conformation and activities. These findings suggest that photobiomodulation may accelerate and improve nerve regeneration.

Secretome Derived from SHED in Tissue Regeneration
Stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED) have emerged as an alternative stem cell source for cell therapy and regenerative medicine because they are readily available, pose fewer ethical concerns, and have low immunogenicity and tumourigenicity. SHED offer a number of advantages over other dental stem cells, including a high proliferation rate with the potential to differentiate into multiple developmental lineages. The therapeutic effects of SHED are mediated by multiple mechanisms, including immunomodulation, angiogenesis, neurogenesis, osteogenesis, and adipogenesis. Since SHED are more potentially useful source of stem cells than BM-MSCs and DPSCs in cell therapy, therefore it could be suggested that the secretome derived from SHED could enhance tissue regeneration and repair and hence, considered as a suitable candidate for a cell-free approach in regenerative medicine and dentistry.

Elastodontic Appliances
The term “functional appliance” refers to a lot of orthodontic appliances initially designed primarily to correct Class II malocclusion; their use received much acclaim in Europe in the 20th century but not in the USA, where Angle’s philosophy, which put in the foreground the need to achieve an ideal dental occlusion with a fixed multibrackets device, was preferred. Elastodontics, therefore, aims to solve skeletal and functional problems in the growth period. Still, at the same time, it represents an extraordinary instrument to readjust the vertical dimension in the adult patient for prosthetic purposes. Elastodontics is a new therapeutic approach that uses removable appliances made with an elastomeric material to produce light and elastic forces to correct malocclusion, aligning them and reducing potential risk factors that can affect growth. This therapy simplifies or eliminates a possible and subsequent orthodontic intervention because it facilitates balanced growth, reduces the number of extractions, and increases stability during treatment. If you change the function through the re-education of behaviour, you will also change the shape. The main purpose of the functional treatment is to “guide” the proper growth of the bone bases by stimulating the perioral muscles and neuromuscular system.
