Video Introduction

This video is adapted from: https://www.youtube.com/embed/tnpnCnRECFM

In this lecture I explain how Danish physicist, Niels Bohr, used emission and absorption spectra to significantly propel forward our understanding of the atom. I discuss the success of Bohr’s atomic model and its limitations. I also make clear why knowledge about the electron configurations of atoms is considered to be so important. Included in this video are concepts such as electron configuration, spectroscopy, energy levels, ground state, stationary state, excited states, and sublevels.
