Deep Learning Methods in Plant Taxonomy
Plant taxonomy is the scientific study of the classification and naming of various plant species. It is a branch of biology that aims to categorize and organize the diverse variety of plant life on earth. Traditionally, plant taxonomy has been performed using morphological and anatomical characteristics, such as leaf shape, flower structure, and seed and fruit characters. Artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and especially deep learning can also play an instrumental role in plant taxonomy by automating the process of categorizing plant species based on the available features.

Determination of the Live Weight of Farm Animals
In cattle breeding, regularly taking the animals to the scale and recording their weight is important for both the performance of the enterprise and the health of the animals. This process, which must be carried out in businesses, is a difficult task. Due to the drawbacks of direct measurement approaches, a variety of indirect measurement approaches have been proposed.

Hybrid Evolutionary Approaches for Feature Selection
The efficiency and the effectiveness of a machine learning (ML) model are greatly influenced by feature selection (FS), a crucial preprocessing step in machine learning that seeks out the ideal set of characteristics with the maximum accuracy possible. Due to their dominance over traditional optimization techniques, researchers are concentrating on a variety of metaheuristic (or evolutionary) algorithms and trying to suggest cutting-edge hybrid techniques to handle FS issues. The use of hybrid metaheuristic approaches for FS has thus been the subject of numerous research works.

A Cyber-Physical System for Wildfire Detection and Firefighting
The increasing frequency and severity of forest fires necessitate early detection and rapid response to mitigate their impact. This project aims to design a cyber-physical system for early detection and rapid response to forest fires using advanced technologies. The system incorporates Internet of Things sensors and autonomous unmanned aerial and ground vehicles controlled by the robot operating system. An IoT-based wildfire detection node continuously monitors environmental conditions, enabling early fire detection. Upon fire detection, a UAV autonomously surveys the area to precisely locate the fire and can deploy an extinguishing payload or provide data for decision-making. The UAV communicates the fire's precise location to a collaborative UGV, which autonomously reaches the designated area to support ground-based firefighters. The CPS includes a ground control station with web-based dashboards for real-time monitoring of system parameters and telemetry data from UAVs and UGVs. The real-time fire detection capabilities of the proposed system are demonstrated using simulated forest fire scenarios. The objective is to provide a practical approach using open-source technologies for early detection and extinguishing of forest fires, with potential applications in various industries, surveillance, and precision agriculture.

Role of Visual Tools in Understanding Mathematical Culture
The term mathematical culture’ cannot be naturally defined; we will understand it in the same way as ‘good mathematics’ is understood by, i.e., good ways of solving mathematical issues, good mathematical techniques, good mathematical applications and cultivating of mathematical insight, creativity and beauty of mathematics. Cultivation of a mathematical culture means teaching how to see the roots of mathematics in reality (in nature, in society, but also in mathematics itself), getting to know the world of mathematical concepts, understanding this world and being able to apply it in a cultivated and correct way when solving various problems.

Virtual Reality Technologies Supporting Screening Oculomotor Problems
Oculomotor dysfunctions (OMDs) are problems relating to coordination and accuracy of eye movements for processing visual information. Eye-tracking (ET) technologies show great promise in the identification of OMDs. Virtual Reality (VR) and ET technologies emerged in the field of vision science, integrating built-in eye trackers into head-mounted displays (HMDs). Therefore, today, VR has the potential to be an effective tool in complementing the treatment of a variety of vision disorders requiring ET technologies for identification or treatment, e.g., treating amblyopia and convergence insufficiency.

Ant Colony Optimization
Ant colony optimization (ACO) is a well-known class of swarm intelligence algorithms suitable for solving many NP-hard problems. An important component of such algorithms is a record of pheromone trails that reflect colonies’ experiences with previously constructed solutions of the problem instance that is being solved. By using pheromones, the algorithm builds a probabilistic model that is exploited for constructing new and, hopefully, better solutions.
