Fatigue Crack Growth
The development of crack patterns is a serious problem affecting the durability of orthopedic implants and the prognosis of patients. This issue has gained considerable attention in the medical community in recent years. This literature focuses on the five primary aspects relevant to the evaluation of the surface cracking patterns, i.e., inappropriate use, design flaws, inconsistent elastic modulus, allergic reaction, poor compatibility, and anti-corrosiveness. The hope is that increased understanding will open doors to optimize fabrication for biomedical applications. The latest technological issues and potential capabilities of implants that combine absorbable materials and shape memory alloys are also discussed.

CL-20-Based Cocrystal Energetic Materials
Energetic materials (EMs) are widely used in military and civilian applications, such as weaponry, aerospace explorations and fireworks. However, both the power and safety of energetic materials are the most concern in the field of energetic materials application, but there is an essential contradiction between them: the highly energetic materials are often not safe, and, at present, the rareness of pure low-sensitive and highly energetic explosive has been found.  Due to the stringent requirements for both low-sensitivity and high-power simultaneously, the cocrystallization of explosive has attracted great interest since it can alleviate, to a certain extent, the power-safety contradiction. The new energetic cocrystals can potentially exhibit decreased sensitivity, higher performance through increased packing efficiency or oxygen balance, or improve aging due to altered bonds to specific groups on constituent molecules.

Ethiopian Anticancer Plants
This entry provides an overview on the active phytochemical constituents of twenty-seven medicinal plants that are traditionally used to manage cancer in Ethiopia. It is compiled and discusses the potential anticancer, antiproliferative, and cytotoxic agents based on the types of secondary metabolites, such as terpenoids, phenolic compounds, alkaloids, steroids, and lignans. Among the anticancer secondary metabolites reported in this review, only few have been isolated from plants that are originated and collected in Ethiopia, and the majority of compounds are reported from plants belonging to different areas of the world. Thus, based on the available bioactivity reports, extensive and more elaborate ethnopharmacology-based bioassay-guided studies have to be conducted on selected traditionally claimed Ethiopian anticancer plants, which inherited from a unique and diverse landscape, with the aim of opening a way forward to conduct anticancer drug discovery program.
