Treatment of Ankyloglossia
For the treatment of lingual frenulum, it can be concluded that clinicians prefer the use of a diode laser due to its numerous advantages over the use of a scalpel blade. Many studies agree on the usefulness of incorporating myofunctional rehabilitation for patients to improve lingual mobility, both before and after surgical therapy. The development of adequate lingual mobility can contribute to improving the patient’s quality of life, especially if the problem is detected early, as it can prevent situations such as palatal contractions, dental crowding, and sleep-related breathing disorders.

Sodium Chloride, Migraine and Salt Withdrawal
Salt (sodium chloride) meets the criteria for the diagnosis of substance dependence, including withdrawal in which the substance is used to relieve withdrawal symptoms. The premonitory symptoms of migraine include food cravings for salty foods, which can alleviate migraine pain. Edema, possibly related to large amounts of salt consumed in binge eating, can cause approximately four pounds of retained fluid. This amount of fluid is similar to the fluid retained before the onset of migraine headache, which may be accompanied by polyuria.

Techniques of Blood Purification
Even in the absence of strong indications deriving from clinical studies, the removal of mediators is increasingly used in septic shock and in other clinical conditions characterized by a hyperinflammatory response. Despite the different underlying mechanisms of action, they are collectively indicated as blood purification techniques. Their main categories include blood- and plasma processing procedures, which can run in a stand-alone mode or, more commonly, in association with a renal replacement treatment.
