The renewable energy transition of oil- and gas-producing countries has specific peculiarities due to the ambivalent position of these countries in the global energy market, both as producers and consumers of energy resources. This task becomes even more challenging when the share of oil and gas in the country’s GDP is very high. These circumstances pose serious challenges for long-term energy policy development and require compromising decisions to better align the existing and newly created energy policies of the country. The scale, scope, and pace of changes in the transition process must be well balanced, considering the increasing pressure of economic and environmental factors.

The inequality-adjusted human development index, developed by the United Nation Development Program, has been used as a proxy for inclusive human development. In addition, six indicators of governance have been used as independent variables in a regression model, along with three control variables. The inclusive human development index (IHDI) causes more government investment in development projects, whereas more development expenditure in the country achieves a higher IHDI. Trade openness and development expenditure have a bi-directional causal relationship.

Macroeconomic Effects of Energy Price in Korea
Under the double pressure of the Ukrainian–Russian war and the COVID-19 pandemic, the global energy crisis has also engulfed the Korean economy. According to an empirical study using the impulse response function, the results show that an energy price shock causes a decline in production, labor supply, capital stock, and energy consumption, as well as an increase in consumption, wages, the goods price level, inflation, and the deposit interest rate. Meanwhile, variance decomposition findings indicate that the energy price shock has a greater impact on the Korean macroeconomy than other shocks.

Environmental Regulation and Employment Changes
This research investigates the impact of the Top 10,000 Energy-Consuming Enterprises Program (hereafter referred to as the carbon reduction policy) implemented by the Chinese government in 2011 on the employment of manufacturing enterprises. The research indicates that the implementation of the carbon reduction policy has two ways of impacting the employment scale, namely ‘employment creation’ and ‘employment destruction’. The actual effect of the policy on the employment scale depends on the superposition of these two effects. Based on a sample data set of Chinese manufacturing enterprises, the generalized propensity score-matching method (GPSM) is used to identify the causal relationship and its mechanism between the carbon reduction policy and the employment scale.

Russia and the EU represent two economic blocs with high-value bilateral trade, especially in several specific sectors. The Russia–Ukraine war has facilitated the escalation of protectionism against Russia, and the EU and Western partners have introduced a set of sanctions on the import of goods from Russia, but also on EU exports to Russia. Russia is a resource-rich country whose exports are mainly based on resources and resource-related products. Therefore, forward participation in global value chains dominates, being 4.5 times higher than backward participation. Optimization Electric Vehicle Charging Control Demand Side Management
In this paper, we propose a novel demand-side management (DSM) system designed to optimize electric vehicle (EV) charging at public stations using model predictive control (MPC). The system adjusts to real-time grid conditions, electricity prices, and user preferences, providing a dynamic approach to energy distribution in smart city infrastructures. The key focus of the study is on reducing peak loads and enhancing grid stability, while minimizing charging costs for end users. Simulations were conducted under various scenarios, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed system in mitigating peak demand and optimizing energy use. Additionally, the system’s flexibility enables the adjustment of charging schedules to meet both grid requirements and user needs, making it a scalable solution for smart city development. However, current limitations include the assumption of uniform tariffs and the absence of renewable energy considerations, both of which are critical in real-world applications. Future research will focus on addressing these issues, improving scalability, and integrating renewable energy sources. The proposed framework represents a significant step towards efficient energy management in urban settings, contributing to both cost savings and environmental sustainability.
