The origin of angiosperms is a key question in systematic botany since the answer to this question is hinged with many questions concerned with angiosperm evolution. Fossil evidence is the only reliable way to learn of the history of angiosperms. There are increasing number of fossils of pre-Cretaceous angiosperms. These new fossils are toppling many stereotpyes in botany, which are far away from the truth about history of plants and should be corrected and updated with new data.
