High-Precision Detection Algorithm for Metal Workpiece Defects
Computer vision technology is increasingly being widely applied in automated industrial production. The development of machine-vision-based automated inspection methods has overcome the limitations of low accuracy, poor real-time performance, and high labor intensity associated with manual inspection. This technology has emerged as a fast and reliable alternative for detecting various surface defects, offering significant advantages such as high automation, reliability, and objectivity.

Role of Basalt Geochemistry in CO2 Storage
The geochemistry of basalt plays a crucial role in the storage of CO2, as it possesses natural properties that enable the capture and sequestration of CO2. Basalt exhibits a remarkable ability to react with CO2 and form stable carbonate minerals, a process known as mineral carbonation or carbon sequestration.

Research Progress on Cu–15Ni–8Sn Alloys
The Cu–15Ni–8Sn (C72900) alloy is a typical spinodal hardened copper alloy engineered for high strength, elasticity, and stress relaxation resistance. Compared with Cu-Be alloy, the comprehensive properties of Cu-15Ni-8Sn alloy are equal, and it has no toxicity during manufacturing and processing. In addition, the properties of Cu-15Ni-8Sn alloy are much better than those of Cu-Be alloy at high temperature.

Wavelength-Routed Optical Networks-on-Chip Topology
Optical networks-on-chip (NoCs) have emerged as a next-generation solution to overcome the limitations of electrical NoCs. In particular, wavelength-routed optical networks-on-chip (WRONoCs) are well known for their high bandwidth and ultra-low signal delay. Despite these advantages, WRONoCs are challenged by reliability concerns, because the main components in WRONoCs, i.e., microring resonators (MRRs), are susceptible to fabrication inaccuracies. When an MRR along a signal path is defective, the signal transmitted on that path will fail to reach its designated destination, which leads to transmission errors and data loss.

Automated Assessment of Tumors in Histopathology Images
The automated assessment of tumors in medical image analysis encounters challenges due to the resemblance of colon and lung tumors to non-mitotic nuclei and their heteromorphic characteristics. An accurate assessment of tumor nuclei presence is crucial for determining tumor aggressiveness and grading.

Battery Management System
Renewable energy penetration and distributed generation are key for the transition towards more sustainable societies, but they impose a substantial challenge in terms of matching generation with demand due to the intermittent and unpredictable nature of some of these renewable energy sources. Thus, the role of energy storage in today’s and future electricity markets is undisputed. Batteries stand out among the different alternatives for energy storage.

Tactical Urbanism Interventions and Estimation of OD Matrices
Tactical urbanism is an innovative urban design approach consisting of interim street transformations enabling public authorities and administrations to temporarily requalify deteriorated or misused urban spots to be regenerated and reinstated into their original purposes. Such an approach is characterized by limited financial resource usage and streamlined bureaucratic procedures and requires the involvement of the public, especially locals or usual users of the area, who can have their say during the project design and the later assessment phases.

The Swimming Mode of Fish
Starting from the morphological function of fish, there are many swimming modes of fish in nature, the most authoritative classification of which, based on the organ of propulsion, was first proposed by Breder and Webb. There are two main categories of propulsion methods, body caudal fin (BCF) propulsion and median paired fin (MPF) propulsion. In 1978, Lindsey classified the different families of fish species according to their mode of propulsion, which provided the essential foundation for the improvement of the overall performance of undulating propulsion biomimetic robots.
