Artificial Intelligence in Adaptive and Intelligent Educational System
There has been much discussion among academics on how pupils may be taught online while yet maintaining a high degree of learning efficiency, in part because of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic in the previous two years. Students may have trouble focusing due to a lack of teacher–student interaction, yet online learning has some advantages that are unavailable in traditional classrooms. The architecture of online courses for students is integrated into a system called the Adaptive and Intelligent Education System (AIES). In AIESs, reinforcement learning is often used in conjunction with the development of teaching strategies, and this reinforcement-learning-based system is known as RLATES.

Gastrointestinal Tract Polyp Anomaly Segmentation
Computer-aided polyp segmentation is a crucial task that supports gastroenterologists in examining and resecting anomalous tissue in the gastrointestinal tract. The disease polyps grow mainly in the colorectal area of the gastrointestinal tract and in the mucous membrane, which has protrusions of micro-abnormal tissue that increase the risk of incurable diseases such as cancer. A deep learning method, Graft-U-Net, is proposed to segment polyps using colonoscopy frames. Graft-U-Net is a modified version of UNet, which comprises three stages, including the preprocessing, encoder, and decoder stages.

Fog Computing
Fog computing provides an effective solution to various problems by extending the cloud’s functionality to typically more limited computing units closer to user devices. Fog computing can provide a higher level of user experience due to its geographic and network topology location and distribution. IoT services also need to be managed seamlessly to ensure adequate QoS (due to the mobility of devices or the temporary periods without an internet connection). Such domains are combined under the auspices of Dew computing, as in critical cases, extending an IoT service to the end user’s device is a feasible task. Such scenarios can hardly be investigated at a large scale due to the lack of dedicated simulation environments.

Distributed Denial-of-Service Attacks
With the rapid advancement and transformation of technology, information and communication technologies (ICT), in particular, has attracted everyone’s attention. The attackers took advantage of this and can be caused serious problems, such as malware attacks, ransomware, SQL injection attack and so on. One of the dominant attacks, known as distributed denial-of-service (DDoS), has been observed as the main reason for information hacking.

Machine Learning-Based Application Life-Cycle
The application of emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), entails risks that need to be addressed to ensure secure and trustworthy socio-technical infrastructures. Machine Learning (ML), the most developed subfield of AI, allows for improved decision-making processes. ML models exhibit specific vulnerabilities that conventional IT systems are not subject to. As systems incorporating ML components become increasingly pervasive, the need to provide security practitioners with threat modeling tailored to the specific AI-ML pipeline is of paramount importance.

Perceptual Encryption-Based Image Communication System for Tuberculosis Diagnosis
Block-based perceptual encryption (PE) algorithms are becoming popular for multimedia data protection because of their low computational demands and format-compliancy with the JPEG standard. In conventional methods, a colored image as an input is a prerequisite to enable smaller block size for better security. However, in domains such as medical image processing, unavailability of color images makes PE methods inadequate for their secure transmission and storage. A PE method that is applicable for both color and grayscale images is proposed. The EfficientNetV2-based model is implemented for automatic tuberculosis (TB) diagnosis in chest X-ray images.

Overview of Proposed LoRaWAN Security Model
Long-Range Wide-Area Network (LoRaWAN) is a popular Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol that has several benefits such as wide-area coverage, long-range communication, low deployment cost, and low energy consumption. LoRaWAN is deployed on top of the Long-Range (LoRa) protocol, which is a physical layer protocol. Interoperability and cross-cooperation can be experienced by the communicating entities in IoT-based LoRaWAN applications with less complex implementations.

Associative Classification Method
Machine learning techniques are ever prevalent as datasets continue to grow daily. Associative classification (AC), which combines classification and association rule mining algorithms, plays an important role in understanding big datasets that generate a large number of rules. Clustering, on the other hand, can contribute by reducing the rule space to produce compact models.

Machine Learning Used to Combat COVID-19
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has had a significant impact on global health since the start of the pandemic in 2019. As of June 2022, over 539 million cases have been confirmed worldwide with over 6.3 million deaths as a result. Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions such as machine learning and deep learning have played a major part in this pandemic for the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19.

VR Serious Games and Negative Schizophrenia Symptoms
Schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder that affects 1 in every 300 people worldwide. VR is an interesting tool that has started to be used in remediation therapies. Although it is typically used as an exposure technique for specific phobias, VR has been applied, with encouraging results, to the study and treatment of schizophrenia. It can offer the potential for a significant therapeutic benefit, since patients are more willing to enter challenging situations and experiment with alternative ways of responding.
