Standardization of Whole Yeast Cell Vaccines
In the context of vaccine development, improving antigenic presentation is critical for the activation of specific immune responses and the success of immunization, in addition to selecting an appropriate target. In this sense, different strategies have been developed and improved. Among them is the use of yeast cells as vehicles for the delivery of recombinant antigens. These vaccines, named whole yeast vaccines (WYVs), can induce humoral and cellular immune responses, with the additional advantage of dispensing with the use of adjuvants due to the immunostimulatory properties of their cell wall components.

STAMP2 in Diabetes, Inflammatory Diseases and Cancers
STAMP2 plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of  type II diabetes, inflammation and cancers. The six transmembrane protein of prostate 2 (STAMP2), a metalloreductase involved in iron and copper homeostasis, is well known for its critical role in the coordination of glucose/lipid metabolism and inflammation in metabolic tissues. STAMP2 is a critical modulator for coordinating metabolism and inflammation. Although STAMP2 has been widely studied focusing on the inhibitory role in inflammation and metabolism, the underlying mechanism is not fully understood. In addition to its role in metabolism and inflammation, STAMP2 is also associated with tumorigenesis. For example, STAMP2 overexpression may increase ROS, which may contribute to increased mutational rates and further progression of prostate cancer.

Stallion Husbandry
The stress of isolation from the individual husbandry of stallions can result in behavioral problems, aggression, and diseases of the respiratory, nutritional, and musculoskeletal systems. Several examples from practice show that the keeping of stallions in groups is possible in principle. It only poses a risk for injuries if the necessary requirements for this type of husbandry are not taken into account. If the size and design of the exercise area/pasture, the group constellations, and the characters of the stallions are considered, keeping stallions in groups represents the most species-appropriate form of husbandry for them. This takes into account animal welfare aspects and complies best with the requirements of modern horse husbandry. However, the integration of the stallion into an existing group should only be carried out by qualified, experienced horse owners, who must proceed professionally and step by step. Consequently, stress, disadvantages, and the potential for injury can be reduced to a minimum or, ideally, avoided altogether, and the wellbeing and mental and physical health can be supported in the best possible way.

Stage-Crisis View
The stage-crisis view is a theory of adult development that was established by Daniel Levinson. Although largely influenced by the work of Erik Erikson, Levinson sought to create a broader theory that would encompass all aspects of adult development as opposed to just the psychosocial. This theory is characterized by both definitive eras as well as transition phases, whose purpose is to facilitate a smooth transition out of one era and into the next. According to his theory, various developmental tasks must be mastered as one progresses through each era; pre-adulthood, early adulthood, middle adulthood, and late adulthood. Crises are also experienced throughout the lifecycle and occur when one become burdened by either internal or external factors, such as during the midlife crisis that occurs during the midlife transition from early adulthood to middle adulthood. Levinson researched both men and women, and found that they typically go through the same cycles, though he suggested that women's cycles were more closely tied to the domestic sphere, or their family life. Due to the use of biased research methods however, the extent to which his results can be generalized remains controversial. Although not widely accepted, his theories entail many implications for both behavioral and cultural psychology.

Today, recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) vectors represent the vector systems which are mostly used for in vivo gene therapy for the treatment of rare and less-rare diseases. Although most of the past developments have been performed by using a transfection-based method and more than half of the authorized rAAV-based treatments are based on transfection process, the tendency is towards the use of stable inducible packaging and producer cell lines because their use is much more straightforward and leads in parallel to reduction in the overall manufacturing costs.

Stabilization Strategies of Pharmaceutical Proteins
At the beginning of the transcription of a protein, thanks to the intracellular chaperone systems and the biophysical laws governing protein folding, correct folding occurs most of the time. When due to cellular defects and rapid protein expression, protein folding becomes problematic, and several fates may occur for the protein. In cases where misfolding leads to the loss of protein activity (such as enzymes), the corresponding disease will appear directly. As this state continues, the misfolded protein may turn into amorphous clots or aggregates with regular structures, each of which can lead to various neurological diseases or even cancer. In the most optimistic scenario, the misfolded protein enters the proteasome machinery and is initially converted into smaller peptides and finally broken down into building amino acids.
