Growing older is inevitable, but does it have to mean losing your vitality? The secret to aging healthily, strongly, and gracefully is waiting to be uncovered.

As one of the essential nutrients for humans, protein plays a crucial role in boosting immunity and is key in fighting viral infections! It also helps maintain muscle, bone, and nerve stability while promoting metabolism and cardiovascular health.

Which type of protein is best for longevity? Researchers from Harvard University published a paper in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that higher intake of plant protein is linked to a longer, healthier life.

For every 3% increase in energy intake from plant protein, the chances of healthy aging rise by a remarkable 46%. In contrast, with animal protein, every 3% increase in energy intake lowers the chances of healthy aging by 6%. And just adding 10 grams of plant protein each day boosts your odds of healthy aging by 35%.

Research shows that plant-based foods help lower bad cholesterol levels, giving your blood vessels a much-needed 'spring cleaning'. This reduces cholesterol buildup on vessel walls and helps prevent atherosclerosis. At the same time, it helps lower blood pressure and improve insulin sensitivity, playing a crucial role in maintaining cardiovascular stability and balancing blood sugar levels.

Additionally, plant protein can lower levels of pro-inflammatory markers, reducing inflammation in our body's vast and complex 'ecosystem'. These mechanisms work together like a finely tuned health machine, giving those who consume more plant protein a stronger resistance against the threats of chronic diseases.

Studies have also found that plant protein can significantly reduce the risk of cognitive and mental health decline.
