Pharmacological Activities of Betulin
Betulin is a natural triterpene, usually from birch bark, known for its potential wound-healing properties. Betulin has protective effects against cardiovascular and liver diseases, cancer, diabetes, oxidative stress, and inflammation. It reduces postprandial hyperglycemia by inhibiting α-amylase and α-glucosidase activity, combats tumor cells by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting metastatic proteins, and modulates chronic inflammation by blocking the expression of proinflammatory cytokines via modulation of the NFκB and MAPKs pathways.

Dietary Supplements for Weight Loss Control
The market offers supplements containing food plant-derived molecules (e.g., primary and secondary metabolites, vitamins, and fibers), microbes (probiotics), and microbial-derived fractions (postbiotics). They can control lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, reduce appetite (interacting with the central nervous system) and adipogenesis, influence intestinal microbiota activity, and increase energy expenditure. Unfortunately, the copious choice of products and different legislation on food supplements worldwide can confuse consumers.

Spiro-Flavonoids in Nature
The research collects 65 unique structures, including spiro-biflavonoids, spiro-triflavonoids, spiro-tetraflavonoids, spiro-flavostilbenoids, and scillascillin-type homoisoflavonoids. Scillascillin-type homoisoflavonoids comprise spiro[bicyclo[4.2.0]octane-7,3′-chromane]-1(6),2,4-trien-4′-one, while the other spiro-flavonoids contain either 2H,2′H-3,3′-spirobi[benzofuran]-2-one or 2′H,3H-2,3′-spirobi[benzofuran]-3-one in the core of their structures. Spiro-flavonoids have been described in more than 40 species of eight families, including Asparagaceae, Cistaceae, Cupressaceae, Fabaceae, Pentaphylacaceae, Pinaceae, Thymelaeaceae, and Vitaceae. The possible biosynthetic pathways for each group of spiro-flavonoids are summarized in detail. Anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities are the most important biological activities of spiro-flavonoids, both in vitro and in vivo.

Design and Synthesis of Porous Organic Polymers
5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), which can be synthesized from lignocellulose as a raw material, is an important biological platform molecule. Its preparation and the catalytic oxidation of subsequent products have important research significance and practical value. In the actual production process, porous organic polymer (POP) catalysts are highly suitable for biomass catalytic conversion due to their high efficiency, low cost, good designability, and environmentally friendly features.

Covalent Inhibitors for Neglected Diseases
Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) is a group of 20 diseases affecting more than 1 billion people in the world, especially those living in poor communities of tropical areas. Caused by a variety of etiologic agents such as viruses, bacteria, and parasites, these diseases have a great impact on public health, with social and economic consequences to the affected populations.

Functional Properties of LSM and LSCF Air Electrodes
An analysis of the literature data on the electrical, thermal, mechanical, and electrochemical properties of the conventional perovskite-type cathode materials shows that lanthanum strontium manganite (La,Sr)MnO3 (LSM) fulfils all the requirements for its use in high-temperature SOFCs. However, as the temperature decreases, the use of LSM materials, which are predominantly electronic conductors with a low level of ionic conductivity, becomes unsatisfactory due to their low electrochemical activity for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). On the other hand, cobalt-based perovskite materials, including lanthanum strontium cobaltite ferrite (La,Sr)(Co,Fe)O3−δ (LSCF), are characterized by superior catalytic activity due to high values of both electronic and ionic conductivity.

AuNP-Liposome Nanocomposites: Rationale of Preparation
AuNP are poor drug delivery candidates based on the lack of a reservoir or a matrix to load therapeutics. In fact, loading of therapeutics are limited to the surface of the AuNP, and thus the loading capacity is intrinsically less than other nanocarriers (lipidic or polymeric) on weight per weight bases. However, AuNP have excellent optical and thermal properties and has been proven as an excellent light absorber in the UV-vis region of the spectrum with excellent photothermal conversion efficiency to generate local heat that can be employed to fight nearby cancer cells or to induce drug delivery from the hosting matrix.

Wild Boar Carcass Characteristics and Meat Quality
Globally, wild boar is a primary food resource, mostly for remote rural communities outside of large urban centers located in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. In Chile, the production of meat from European wild boar (Sus scrofa L.) is expanding together with the export of this “exotic” meat. Furthermore, in the Finno-Scandinavian peninsula, and central and Mediterranean Europe, wild boar (Sus scrofa) and other game species meat (reindeer, red deer, roe deer, fallow deer, moose, and chamois) can be found in local restaurants and fairs, indicating an already consolidated gastronomic interest in this type of meat.

Cobalt in the Formation of Fischer–Tropsch Synthesis Products
Hydrocarbons obtained through Fischer–Tropsch synthesis (FTS) from a mixture of CO and H2, also known as synthesis gas, are one of the promising sources of hydrocarbon feedstocks for further use in chemical and petrochemical industries. The composition of hydrocarbon mixtures depends on both the catalyst properties and the process parameters.
