Sports Policing and Tourism Safety in Summer Olympics
Held every four years, the Summer Olympics are the world’s biggest sporting events, posing a significant challenge for tourism and law enforcement professionals. Ensuring the safety of tourists and athletes on-site is the host country’s responsibility. In many cases, the target of terrorists is the tourism sector, which in some countries, accounts for a significant share of annual revenue.

Historic Gardens Heritage
Historic Garden is a category of historic heritage enshrined in the Florence Charter as a Living Monument (ICOMOS, 1982). They belong to the category of landscape designed and created intentionally by Man (UNESCO, 2021). As the expression of the relationship between Man and nature (ICOMOS, 1982; Kimber, 2004), gardens are part of the cultural landscape of any civilization and society and reflect the culture, identity and history of a people (Añón, 1993; Kimber, 2004). As such, constitutes cultural, artistic and historical documents (Doolitle, 2004) and horticultural compositions (ICOMOS, 1982) of great importance and interest. Since it is composed of living plant material, a garden is a dynamic and constantly changing environment where different types of time (ecological, social and subjective) are brought together and interact (Bhatti et al., 2009). A garden therefore becomes an unfinished work (Estadão, 2005) and one that is necessarily ephemeral (Gollwitzer, 1993). This dynamic transformation leads Sales (1993) to say that a garden is not an object, but rather a process undergoing constant development and decomposition.

Focused-Attention Meditation
Focused-Attention Meditation emphasizes concentration and requires that you try to focus on mental and sensory activities such as feeling the breath, repeating words (mantras), and imagining images without any interference of thoughts and feelings. Focused-Attention Meditation means focusing your attention on something in the present moment, such as a sound (birdsong), an image (the ocean), an action (breathing), reaching a state of ecstasy.

Gender-Differentiated Poverty among Migrant Workers
Poverty describes a state in which humans lack access to those resources necessary for providing basic material needs. Poverty has a complex and dynamic nature. First, it exists pervasively yet contextually. Pervasively, the phenomenon of poverty exists in numerous countries, including both lower-income/higher-income and developing/developed countries. Regarding its diversification, poverty occurs in situ, alongside inequality, across population groups in different countries, regions, regimes, and societies.

Marine Plastic Litter Reduction in Manila
Without coordinated intervention, the annual flow of plastics into the ocean is expected to nearly triple by 2040, from 11 million tons today to 29 million metric tons, globally. Manila Bay, situated in Manila, is where the challenges related to plastic pollution are of great importance nationally and, thus, make headlines globally, as plastic waste that is not properly managed has increased the economic and environmental effects of marine plastics. At the global governance forum on 2 March 2022, at the UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi, 175 countries endorsed a historic resolution to end plastic pollution and forge an international, legally binding agreement by the end of 2024. With this global and binding agreement, cities like Manila could properly enforce measures to end this plastic pollution—which needs the political will of the administrators and the participation of the relevant constituents.

Challenges of Widowhood Extend to Childcare
Unless widows recount their painful experiences of caring for their children, their day-to day lived challenges of childcare may be misunderstood if not totally missed by social workers in practice. The widespread and global phenomenon of widowhood warrants international recognition and aggressive scholarship to create resounding comprehension for proper and deliberate practical interventions. The phenomenon of widowhood cannot be localised to certain geographical settings or racial, ethnic or religious groups as widowhood cuts across all social groupings and stratifications and, as such, has been described as one of the epidemics in the world.

Gender Gap in Academic Self-Concept
Using a combination of creative music workshops and gaming. A Widening Participation project. Ornette D Clennon, Hannah R Wilson, Dana Baker Cerda, Janice Brown and Yolanta Boti We worked with year 5 and year 6 children (aged 8-10yrs) from two local primary schools (N=94) and two local care homes in Crewe, in the UK. We conducted quasi experimental mixed mode research on an intergenerational Widening Participation project that used creative music sessions. We used the Attitudes to Higher Education Questionnaire (AHEQ) developed by Pam Maras and the ‘Map of Me’ graffiti chart developed by Ornette D Clennon to measure and track the children’s changed attitudes towards Higher Education as a result of the creative music interventions. We found that despite the apparent creative freedom given to our cohorts in terms of negotiating their own learning outcomes in the creative music sessions, the boys (n=43) still lagged far behind their female counterparts (n=51) when it came to their attitudes towards Higher Education and academic self-image. However, the post-intervention data did point towards the boys’ preference for gaming as a form of social and collaborative learning, which led us to write a brief Appreciative Inquiry into the intervention we could have run had we known this from the start.
