Re-education is a structured process of reteaching or retraining intended to replace disrupted, maladaptive, or insufficient knowledge, skills, habits, or behaviors with more functional ones [1][2][3]. It is commonly used when prior learning is no longer effective or has been impaired (e.g., after injury, illness, prolonged disengagement, or persistent learning/behavioral difficulties), and it focuses on guided relearning through targeted instruction, practice, feedback, and monitoring [1][2]. Re-education is characterized by corrective learning goals, individualized progression, and repeated application in relevant contexts so that newly learned responses become stable and transferable. In professional usage, the term denotes intentional restorative or corrective educational intervention, not routine instruction delivered without a defined relearning purpose.
