In the face of global crises—from climate change to ecological collapse—meaningful solutions require transforming the systemic drivers behind these issues, such as economic structures, population dynamics, and global decision-making. Existing governance mechanisms have so far been unable to deliver the necessary systemic shifts, highlighting the urgent need for a new method of decision-making. This video presents a three-stage proposal to address this challenge. First, a panel of independent experts in collective decision-making, overseen by auxiliary monitoring bodies, would design a new procedural framework. Second, a global call would be made to gather proposals for systemic reform. Third, using the newly established procedure, these proposals would be used to design and decide upon concrete system-wide changes. The approach also considers how authority could be legitimately granted to a new decision-making body responsible for implementing these changes. Essential to this process is a globally coordinated team that would convene the experts and monitoring bodies, collect reform proposals, and facilitate the entire decision-making process. This video urges individuals and independent organizations to support the creation of such a team or contribute to its formation.
