Linguistic Resources

Edit

Linguistic resources are organized collections of language data and associated information used to describe, analyze, document, or process linguistic phenomena [1][2]. They include resources such as text corpora, speech databases, lexicons, dictionaries, grammatical descriptions, annotated datasets, and language-specific reference materials, which may contain written, spoken, or multimodal data in raw or processed forms [1]. In corpus linguistics and computational linguistics, linguistic resources may be annotated with information such as part-of-speech tags, syntactic structures, semantic categories, or speaker characteristics to support systematic linguistic investigation and language technology development [2]. The term encompasses both primary language data and structured reference materials, distinguished by their organization, content, and intended analytical or computational use.
