Video Introduction

This video is adapted from 10.3390/en17010140

Nowadays, the transportation sector is responsible for approximately 30% of the greenhouse gas emissions and more than 90% of the global transport energy is coming from fossil fuels.

This aspect is worrying, because their intensive exploitation may generate significant environmental consequences and accelerate the global warming phenomena.

Another important consequence caused by irrational exploitation and usage of fossil fuels is the depletion of natural resources.

In this context, researchers need to find a better way of managing the resources of the present, having as the main objective satisfying the needs of the current generation, without affecting the ability of future generations to satisfy their own needs.

Finding and implementing different solutions became a necessity since climate changes are considered a significant threat to human evolution. Therefore, looking for alternatives to replacing non-renewable sources and decreasing the generated pollutant emissions are promising future perspectives.

The main objective of this video is to accomplish a comprehensive analysis of the main energy storage technologies, including general principles, advantages, and disadvantages, as well as their potential to replace fossil fuels.

The team is diverse, including researchers from different fields of activity, with a passion for research and the desire to revolutionize the limits of the current knowledge brought together.

Hope you will enjoy this video and may it inspire you in your future research!
