Diphyllobothrium latum is called the broad or the fish tapeworm. It belongs to the class Cestoda. It is ribbon-shaped, segmented body with a length that could reach 10 metres.

The scolex or the head of the worm is almond shaped, elongated with two bothria or grooves. [1]
