Mahavir has 20+ years of experience in Biotechnology. As an inventor he has developed patented technologies in the field of biomedical sciences. Currently, he is the President of the Kentucky Physiological Society, and a faculty member in the School of Medicine at University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA and also holds the Chair of Cell & Molecular Biology of the Kentucky Academy of Science. In recent past, Mahavir has served both the public, and private organizations either as a dynamic CEO or the President or a Board-Member. In his senior leadership role, Mahavir has successfully directed Drug Discovery and Development programs in Start-up, Mid-cap, and Large-cap companies and has widely published in the peer-reviewed scientific journals, authored book-chapters, and has written invited reviews. Further, he is a federal grant reviewer for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and is an active member in the leading Societies/Associations such as American Heart Association (AHA), American Physiological Society (APS), and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). He has supervised Masters, and PhD students, and has trained researchers, postdoctoral-fellows, scientists, and faculty members. Mahavir is an avid reader, enjoys music, and is also involved in philanthropic work.
