Green innovation refers to the development or implementation of new or improved products, processes, and organizational methods that reduce environmental impacts, improve resource efficiency, or enhance environmental sustainability [1]. It encompasses innovations aimed at reducing energy consumption, minimizing waste and emissions, improving resource utilization, and promoting more sustainable interactions between economic activities and ecological systems [2]. Green innovation differs from general innovation by incorporating explicit environmental objectives into innovation processes and considering ecological effects alongside economic performance [3]. In the context of bioeconomy and sustainable development, it includes innovations that support the efficient use of biological resources, the transition toward low-impact production systems, and the integration of environmental considerations into agricultural and industrial activities [4]. In agricultural and biological systems, green innovation involves changes in production practices, resource management, and biological processes that improve environmental performance while maintaining productive functions [5].
