Social concerns refer to issues, conditions, or challenges that affect the well-being, rights, relationships, participation, or living conditions of individuals or groups within society and are regarded as matters of broader social significance [1][2]. They may involve areas such as poverty, inequality, social exclusion, discrimination, health, education, employment, housing, environmental conditions, and access to social resources [1][3]. Social concerns can arise from measurable social conditions as well as from the ways in which particular conditions are perceived, interpreted, and brought to public attention by individuals, communities, social movements, researchers, or policymakers [2]. Their significance may therefore vary across societies and over time according to social values, cultural contexts, institutional arrangements, and changing patterns of social risk or disadvantage [2][3]. Social concerns may become subjects of public debate, research, advocacy, or policy development when they are understood as requiring collective attention or action. Social concerns encompasse a broad range of socially significant issues related to individual and collective well-being.
