Descriptor
A descriptor is in chemical nomenclature a prefix placed before the systematic substance name, which describes the configuration or the stereochemistry of the molecule. Some listed descriptors are only of historical interest and should not be used in publications anymore as they do not correspond with the modern recommendations of the IUPAC. Stereodescriptors are often used in combination with locants to clearly identify a chemical structure unambiguously. The descriptors, usually placed at the beginning of the systematic name, are not taken into account in the alphabetical sorting.

Carbon-Based Nanofluids
Carbon-based nanofluids are made of ND, graphene, and CNT, etc., and can be employed in some of the commonly known thermal applications in the energy industry. In addition, it possess the most favorable thermal properties and, when well handled, physical properties compared to any other type of nanofluids or conventional fluids. This is because these carbon-based materials, when dispersed in a base fluid attain unique features such as high thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity, high heat transfer rate, and lower pressure drop in the working system compared to other types of dispersed nanomaterials. Furthermore, the aforementioned suspensions cause the least corrosion and erosion effects on the hosting device, all of which are crucial parameters for the operation cycle. Moreover, the influence of the stability of these suspensions on their thermophysical properties was also highlighted along with the development in these properties prediction correlations.

Application of Cyclodextrins in the Textile Area
Cyclodextrins (CDs) are biocompatible and accepted in biological applications; therefore, there is a growing interest in them both scientifically and industrially. CDs are obtained through the enzymatic degradation of potatoes, corn and rice starch, which gives a mixture of linear, branched, or cyclic dextrins. CDs have a very important role in textile processing and innovation; their use provides immediate opportunities for the development of environmentally friendly products and eco-textiles, in addition to having great potential in various applications. Cyclodextrins can be applied in the areas of spinning, pretreatment, dyeing, finishing, and dye removal, with dyeing, finishing, and water treatment being the most applicable in the textile area registered so far.

High Performance Bioplastics
Biomass provides a wealth of renewable and bio-waste resources for bioplastics synthesis. Many of these bio-based plastics, encompass capacities for biodegradation and bioprocessing with high performance features akin to petroleum-based plastics. The realisation of bioplastics that exhibit a complete set of mechanical and biodegradability, hold the promise of delivering material of ecologically sustainable, low carbon footprint circularity.

Zirconium and Titanium Phosphates
Zirconium and titanium phosphates are a group of laminar tetravalent metal phosphates that have attracted intensive investigation interests. Unlike zirconium phosphates, titanium phosphates can be also synthesized in another morphology, exhibiting the form of nanorods, and thus are known as nanofibrous titanium phosphates.  The different synthetic routes of zirconium and titanium phosphates and their current and prospective applications with a special mention to the their plausible applications in the field of biotechnology are discussed.

Thermosensitive Gelling Rectal Systems
Thermosensitive gelling system is drug delivery system that becomes a gel at physiological temperature.  The transition sol-gel temperature (Tsol-gel) is below body temperature (<37◦C), making it possible to prepare liquid preparations, which gel back at body temperature. Thermosensitive gelling system could be used to rectal administration. Rectal drug delivery is an effective alternative to oral and parenteral treatments. This route allows for both local and systemic drug therapy. Traditional rectal dosage formulations have historically been used for localised treatments, including laxatives, hemorrhoid therapy and antipyretics. However, this form of drug dosage often feels alien and uncomfortable to a patient, encouraging refusal. Thermosensitive liquid suppositories are easier to administer to the anus as they remain liquid at lower temperatures. In addition, this rectal gel minimize the feeling of a foreign body compared with solid suppositories, does not cause any harm on mucosal layers and act as mucoadhesive to the rectal tissues preventing leakage after administration.

Inorganic Polymers (Geopolymers)
The ecologically-friendly inorganic materials called geopolymers are mainly produced using secondary raw materials such as fly ash, blast furnace slags, or mining residues at temperatures below 100 °C. Geopolymers are a sustainable alternative to Portland cement in the building industry. Their chemical and physical properties enable them to act as supports for photoactive species, including TiO2, Cu2O and Fe2O3, or carbon nanotubes and graphene. This review discusses the structure and synthesis process of geopolymers and the principal considerations for their use as photocatalysts. The utilisation of geopolymers as photocatalysts indicates promising applications for removing heavy metals from wastewater, purifying polluted drinking water and ecologically-friendly candidates to remediate toxic environmental pollutants.

Application of Laser-Induced Periodic Surface Structures (LIPSS)
As a laser technology, the femtosecond laser is used in biomedical fields due to its excellent performance—its ultrashort pulses, high instantaneous power, and high precision. As a surface treatment process, the femtosecond laser can prepare different shapes on metal surfaces to enhance the material’s properties, such as its wear resistance, wetting, biocompatibility, etc. Laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPSSs) are a common phenomenon that can be observed on almost any material after irradiation by a linearly polarized laser. Surface texturing by laser irradiation can change various materials’ properties and create multifunctional surfaces. Materials can be better applied by customizing functional surfaces.

Supramolecular Aggregates
Supramolecular Aggregates cross several disciplines, embracing the sciences of nature and joining theory, experiment, and application, from molecular to macroscopic levels. The problems of interdisciplinarity are overcome initially with scientific divulgation, bringing concepts from their origin, to facilitate the access of young scientists to the scientific content. Next, focus on some basic principles can help to understand the non trivial connections between Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
